On June 28, 2018 death came quietly to Bobbie Stokes Foard. Mrs. Foard was a native of Charlotte NC having been born on April 13, 1930 near what is now CPCC. Mrs. Foard graduated from Harding High School in the class of 1948 and before her retirement was Administrative Assistant to the Director of Frito-Lays, Inc. In earlier years she was administrative assistant with The Kroger Company. She served for 14 years as Treasurer of the Harding High School Alumni Association where she was a dedicated member and loved planning special events for the alumni members. She also served as National President of the Auxiliary to the National Association of Postal Supervisors, as well as, President of the North Carolina Postal Supervisors Auxiliary. While serving as National President of the NAPS Auxiliary, she traveled all over the United States working on behalf of the Postal Supervisors of which her husband, Erskine Foard, was a member. She met with Senators in Washington DC on many occasions on behalf of NAPS. Her husband was the love of her life and they were happily married for 70 years. They both loved to travel and went on many tours and cruises during their marriage. They both agreed that their favorite trip was to Alaska and dreamed of going again. Mrs. Foard’s family was her life. She enjoyed planning beach events and many other travels for her family. Her joy was her two daughters, two son-in-laws, and five grandchildren and their spouses, and eight great-grandchildren. She is survived by husband, H. Erskine Foard, daughter Rebecca Friend (Robert), daughter Sharon Lamb (Bobby), granddaughter Michelle Lamb Halterman (Rich), grandson Rob Lamb (Megan), granddaughter Anna Friend Carpenter (Andrew), grandson Scott Foard Miller, grandson Brandon Miller (Dr. Kym), and eight great grandchildren. Her only surviving sibling is her sister, Loretta Moore of Matthews NC who was so very special to her. Funeral services will be held at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church, 7400 Mt. Holly Rd., Charlotte NC on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 11:00am, the visitation will begin at 10:00am. The burial will immediately follow in the family plot at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
